Location, location location! On the front lawn of the beautiful, Grade II listed, Hawkshead Youth Hostel with its views to tranquil Esthwaite Water are a small village of Bell Tents. The ideal opportunity for a few families or friends to camp together.
The Bell Tents are bookable from May to September and have full use of the Hostels facilities, including the licensed bar!
The tents sleep four/five and each have a double and three single futons which come complete with bedding. Each tent has its own BBQ fire pit and there are thoughtful extras too, such as comfy bean bags to lounge on and solar lighting.

This back to basics Bell Tent at Wast Water is ideal for a family group or walkers who just want a no nonsense tent for a night or two, in one of Cumbria's most dramatic valleys.
The Bell Tent literally comes with four plastic roll out mattresses, a lamp and four gang plug sockets. There is also a fire bucket with wood, matches etc and fire extinguisher but this is not for cooking purposes.
The campsite has a recently refurbished toilet and shower block. Facilities also include charge points for electric bikes, washing up and laundry areas and a well stocked shop too.
The Wasdale Head Inn , serving great bar snacks and offers bacon rolls & hot chocolate from their back door, (ask if you can't see where ) most weekends and sometimes mid-week too is about a 20 minute walk.
This is very much a back to basics Bell Tent...if you were looking for something a little more on the Glamping style then do check out their Tipi here.
