Orrest Head - WindermereOrrest Head Windermere - one of the Lake District's shortest and easiest walks and it was this very walk that inspired Wainwright![]() The path is paved for most of the route. The walk is a steady gentle climb out of the "village of Windermere. There is a pay and display car park by the railway station and Booths supermarket (just off the A591 in the centre of Windermere opposite the Nat West Bank). The beginning of the path to Orrest Head is clearly marked by the above signpost.
