Sycamore Cottage - Ellonby - North East Cumbria

The owners of this fabulous retreat in rural Cumbria are Tourist Official Blue Badge Holders, so you'll have no worries if you need any recommendations of where to explore. This former barn has a lovely garden but please note that children must be supervised in it due to pond.

Fisherbeck Fold - Coniston

Fisherbeck Fold holds the reward of fabulous views across the lake towards Coniston Old Man in addition to original features such as sloping floors and exposed beams. Dogs are welcome at a nominal surcharge and are going to love the rambles right from the front door. Great reviews of Fisherbeck, do read them and see more photographs of the property

Town End Barn - Satterthwaite - Near Hawkshead

This cottage ticks so many boxes we had to include it even-though a road runs by the front door. The lounge just shouts Lake District with its wood burning stove and local stone fire place. The kitchen is just perfect with a lovely glimpse of the Lakes through the back door and an Aga and Belfast sink complete the scene. Nothing impresses me more than good bed linen! So all the boxes ticked on that front too, the owners have also thoughtfully added a heated towel rail in the bathroom. Oh, we've just noticed that bedroom 2 has a play station 2, just in case you have teenagers and a rainy day!

If you are looking to get away from it all then Sycamore Tree Farm is at the end of a private lane in lovely rural East Cumbria and close to the Settle to Carlisle railway - *there is currently a discount on this property for the Spring Bank holiday

Saddleback View Cottage - Calthwaite - Northern Cumbria

Between Penrith and Carlisle, just outside the Lake District National Park Saddleback View is set in lovely countryside and has been furnished to one of the highest standards we have seen! It's not often that you see an American size fridge in a kitchen well indeed a whole house that looks as though you could have designed it yourself. The house is basically open plan from the kitchen diner to the lounge. The feature wood burner and lovely windows, outdoor terrace with furniture and promise of sunsets.... see for yourself why we are smitten here.
