The Shepherd's Hut at Thornthwaite - Nr. KeswickWith lovely views through French doors toward Skiddaw, this shepherds hut is fully insulated and double glazed. The Hut is in its own area of Lanefoot campsite, by a running stream with native hedging and a small paved area. There is a slate bench and campfire set up ready to go. A purpose built bed fits snuggly into the hut which can sleep two and other facilities include hooks for clothes, lights and two electric sockets, so generally you need to bring everything that you would for a camping holiday, minus the tent. Please note no cooking in the Hut itself though there is a canopy which can be attached to the door of the Hut to provide shade during the summer and keep out rain on those days when that is what the weather is doing!
